The National Capital Region is set to witness another major upgrade in public transport as the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has finalised the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor. The proposed high-speed line will directly connect Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida, with an estimated investment of ₹15,000 crore.
Designed to ease traffic pressure and improve regional mobility, this corridor is expected to play a key role in shaping the next phase of urban growth across NCR.
Project Overview
The proposed Namo Bharat RRTS corridor will span 61 kilometres and is planned as a high-speed, high-capacity mass transit system. According to officials, construction work is expected to begin in December 2026, with the project likely to be completed within 4.5 years.
- Total Length: 61 km
- Estimated Cost: ₹15,000 crore
- Construction Start: December 2026
- Completion Timeline: ~4.5 years
- Land Requirement: ~75 hectares
Route Alignment and Stations
As per the approved DPR, the corridor will originate at IFFCO Chowk Namo Bharat station in Gurugram, which is also planned as a major node on the upcoming Delhi–Bawal RRTS corridor.
From Gurugram, the alignment will move eastward, passing through:
- Millennium City Centre
- Brigadier Osman Chowk
- Gwal Pahari
- Along the Faridabad–Gurugram Road (MDR-137)
In Faridabad, the corridor will cover:
- Hanuman Mandir / Badkhal Enclave
- Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg
- Bata Chowk
- Crossing the BPTP Bridge
The route will then head towards:
- Amolik Chowk
- Amrita Hospital
- Along the FNG Expressway
Entering Noida near Sector 168, the line will continue eastward into Greater Noida, finally terminating at Surajpur Namo Bharat RRTS station.
Station Distribution
- Gurugram: 2 stations
- Faridabad: 2 stations
- Noida: 1 station
- Greater Noida: 1 station
Strong Link to Jewar Airport
One of the most strategic elements of this project is the Surajpur Namo Bharat station. This station will act as an interchange with the Ghaziabad RRTS corridor and provide smooth connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar. This link is expected to significantly improve airport access from south and west NCR.
Train Capacity and Passenger Projections
Initially, the corridor will operate with 10 six-coach Namo Bharat trains. Each train will have a total passenger capacity of 1,928 passengers, including 408 seats, making it suitable for high-volume daily commuters.
Projected Ridership
- By 2031: ~3.84 lakh passengers per day
- By 2054: ~8.53 lakh passengers per day
What This Means for NCR
The Gurugram–Faridabad–Noida Namo Bharat corridor is expected to transform daily commuting and unlock new growth pockets across the region. Faster travel times, better airport access, and seamless intercity movement will benefit professionals, businesses, and residents alike.
Areas along the Faridabad–Gurugram Road, FNG Expressway, and Greater Noida are also likely to see increased development activity as connectivity improves.
